Coach Jennifer Carter

English/Lang Arts Instructor

Hello! I’m excited to be moving to MZH where I will be able to teach many of my former students from MZM. I am a 2001 graduate of Mt. Zion High School and I feel a sense of pride, dedication and commitment to the students of this community. I look forward to the opportunity to teach British literature and 9th Grade literature. In addition, I am coaching varsity softball and will be the assistant girl’s basketball coach.

Mrs. Amy Collins

Hello! I am Amy Collins, the new Bookkeeper at MZHS.  I have worked in the insurance world for 16+ years, and I am looking forward to a new direction, new friends and new adventures!  Don, my husband, and I are the proud parents of MZHS graduate, Garrett, and sophomore, Sarah.  I have been involved with MZ for many years with the band and I'm extremely proud to be an EAGLE!!

Mrs. Yvonne Fjeran

After 15 years in middle school, I am very excited to make the move to high school!  I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Language Arts for 6 years before becoming a middle school counselor.  I enjoy my job and am looking forward to meeting and working with everyone at MZHS.  I have a 22 year old son, Michael, who will graduate from the University of North Georgia in May, 2017, with a degree in elementary education.  My daughter, Caroline, is in 8th grade at Carrollton Jr. High School.

Coach Wesley Lowery

Special Education

Hello! I am originally from Forsyth GA where I attended Mary Persons High School and graduated in 2005.   I received a BA in History from the University of West Georgia in 2009. This is my seventh year teaching and coaching football for Mt. Zion.

Mrs. Alene Morrison

English/Lang Arts Instructor

Hello! I was born and raised in the South makes me a southern belle, which I embrace wholeheartedly. I'm more of a Scarlett O'Hara type than a Melanie Hamilton though I admire Melanie's personality far more. The literary reference should let everyone know I'm an English teacher! I love it! Reading has been my favorite past time since I was 3 years old, and I love it because it provides me a chance to see the world and the way characters and people interact with the world around them. While a Georgian, I lived in Florida for 10 years, where I met my husband who is from New York. We have been married for 26 years this past Valentine's day and have three children. We moved to Georgia in 1996. Teaching is the perfect occupation for me as it allows me to interact with students daily and share my passion for both learning and literature. I really look forward to working at Mt. Zion High this upcoming year as it will be a totally new teaching experience for me. Go Eagles!
